On this exterior painting project in Ooltewah, the olive-green lap siding is now a deep navy that sits well against the tan brick and the brown shingle roof. We painted the front gables, the covered entry, both long sides of the house and the detached garage, then finished the fascia, corner boards, porch columns and window casings in a clean white so every line reads clearly.
The process photos show where the time went before any color went on. We opened and rebuilt a section of rotted soffit, ran fresh caulk along siding corners and the beadboard seams of the screened porch ceiling, and worked the gutter line from ladders. That vaulted porch ceiling now carries the same navy as the walls, which gives the room a finished, enclosed feel under the fan.
