Warm Tan Kitchen & Cream Condo Living Room — Downtown Chattanooga, TN

Downtown condos often have generous trim and limited daylight, so the wall color has to carry the room. In this Chattanooga condo we painted the open kitchen and dining area a warm tan that picks up the glow of the pendant and track lights. Bright white crown molding runs along the ceiling line and again above the upper cabinets, and the white cabinetry reads crisp against the deeper walls.

The living room took a quieter approach. A light cream covers the walls, while the raised ceiling soffit with its layered crown molding is finished in white, giving the room a clear outline at the top. Plantation shutters and simple wood furniture keep things calm, and the lighter walls let the large floral canvas stand out. Two connected rooms, each with its own tone, show how interior painting can shape a smaller home.
